On this episode of Baseball Outside the Box,
Coach Caliendo visits his long time mentor and great friend, 94 year old Len DiForte. Coach Caliendo wants to you to hear this inspirational conversation with his mentor just a few days ago. He believes this conversation can inspire many people in the game as well as in life.
Pete met Len when he was 20 years old trying to set up a Mickey Own Baseball School in Glenn Ellyn Illinois where Len was the President of the league. Ever since they have maintained a great friendship and Len has been a mentor to Pete up till today. One of the most positive people you could ever meet who has taken that attitude and inspired so many coaches in the game. Len was also President of the Illinois Summer Colligiate baseball wooden bat league which currently still operates. He has given so much to coaches, players in the game from the youth to the older players. A very selfless, giving person that Pete has ever seen in his life.
Pete wanted to interview Len so people can hear what kind of an incredible inspirational human being Len is and continues to be as he calls Pete to mentor him through his life in the game of baseball.
Len is 94 years old and still sticks to routines, believe's in God and continues to mentor people in the conversant home he is currently living.
We know this will be a very inspirational show for all coaches, players and parents, even not in the game of baseball.
In the show Len talks about the importance of routines, how to treat people, dealing with failure, giving people an opportunity and his faith in God.
