On this episode of Baseball Outside the Box, Coach Caliendo sits down with an author and one of the most respected hitting consultants in the game of baseball, Kevin Wilson.

Kevin is currently working with players from 20 different organizations around Major League Baseball and was the hitting coach for the USA Baseball 18U National Team, a team which won a gold medal in Taiwan. Plus, Wilson spent 5 years in professional baseball with the Chicago White Sox and Pittsburgh Pirates, respectively.

Kevin Wilson talks with Coach Caliendo about being a teacher, mentor, and the ability to teach individuals instead of teaching about winning and losing. Also, the guys discuss taking the right approach as a hitter, how to address failing as a hitter, and trying new approaches when the old way just isn’t getting the job done. Wilson elaborates on these hitting strategies through discussion about batting practice, hitting in certain counts, and the hitting zone.
