On this episode, Caliendo brings Dr. Lynn Miller to talk about blended learning. She is the author and President/Founder of the Progressive Professional Athlete LLC.

She begins by talking about blended learning and why it is so important. Blended learning is a brand new process that is coming to light not only throughout the baseball world but also all sports.

In this case, blended learning refers to the old way coaches would teach (in this case only pertaining to offline instruction) to be taught along with the new online ways of developing.

Dr. Miller has consulted with college, minor, and major league coaches,to find what skill sets their young players are missing. The two major things she has found are that players are missing assertiveness and discipline.

Her website, www.theprogressivepro.com, provides an interactive interface that takes you through a series of three courses, the 1st being Assertiveness Skills for Athletes Focused on Improvement, the 2nd is self-discipline: Mental, Emotional, and Mechanical, and finally the 3rd is developing and individual Camp Plan. The coaches are also enrolled in this program, so that they engaged along with the player.
