We continue with part 2 of our interview with a great friend and one of the greatest minds in the game of baseball. Matt came up in the major leagues at the age of 19, an American League All-Star Game roster, won the Silver Slugger Award, selected to the Topps Rookie All-Star team, and finished third in voting for the American League Rookie of the Year award. While with the Yankees, Nokes caught Jim Abbott’s no-hitter on September 4, 1993. He took all his experience in playing in the big leagues, played/coached Independent professional baseball, Matt and I met when I had the pleasure of signing him with the Schaumburg Flyers in the Northern League, ever since then we have kept in touch and I have learned a lot from Matt. He is by far one of the top experts in the skill of being a catcher and developing hitters.
