Episode 12, Part 1 of 2 – Level I, II & III: We are splitting this week’s episode into two parts: one today, and the second later this week! Today we talk to Ryan Harrison, a certified Sports Performance Vision Trainer, with a degree in Exercise Physiology from University of California – Davis. Since 1998 Ryan has been working with International Softball, Collegiate and Amateur Softball teams. Ryan also has been a key consultant to numerous International, Professional and Collegiate Football, Baseball & Softball teams. Teams include: USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand Women’s National Softball Teams. MLB Teams including but not limited to Philadelphia Phillies, Toronto Blue Jays, San Francisco Giants, Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Washington Nationals. He has personally trained over 100 Major League roster players on the visual side of the game—among the Major League players he has trained includes Carlos Delgado, Carlos Beltran, Mike Sweeney, Jason Werth; Delmon Young, The SportsEyesite™ Software is a result of his goal to develop training products so that everyone could benefit at a fraction of the cost of having this training and without the need to go to a specialty clinic. Why Vision Training is critical for baseball players? Very difficult to think and see at the same time. Learn how to improve catching the ball and if done correctly it improves your ability to track the ball when hitting. How it effects your hitting when you get information from a parents, coach prior to stepping up to the plate. Using your eyes to track the baseball and not your head. How to really prepare yourself on deck? What age should you start, can coaches implement it in their practice plans, can players train their eyes to better follow the ball, does the head move when hitting and so much more.
