On this episode of Baseball Outside the Box, Coach Caliendo talks about his trip to Bulgaria and Serbia in Europe hosting the International Sports Group coaches certification course in Bulgaria and helping them play in the European B Championships in Serbia.
Coach Caliendo discusses what it takes to develop mental toughness and uses his experience with the Bulgarian players ages 19-30 years old and how they lacked the funding, training ability, played with less players, but played hard each game, never gave up, never complained or made excuses and represented their country with honor.
This discussion is important because to play the game of baseball well, players need to know how to deal with adversity, feel comfortable when they are uncomfortable and not blame anyone for their errors. How do you deal with bad calls by umpires, or calls you believe are bad, errors and more.
